Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Pageants, But Were Afraid to Ask
How do I get involved? You can contact either Margaret and/or Hollie and express your interest. We'll help you get started, whether you're new to Miss America or pageantry in general.
How much does it cost? The Miss America Organization instituted a service requirement in 2007 that contestants must raise at least $100 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, MAO's national platform. If you're a first time contestant in the organization, this requirement will be waived. We also encourage contestants, especially newcomers, to use what's already in their closets for competition wardrobe. It needn't be expensive at all.
But I don't know a thing about pageantry! Help!We suggest you find a copy of Hollie's book, Myths America: A Practical Guide to Pageantry. It's available on Amazon and most other online bookstores. We also have "Tea Time", an informal social time where we can answer any questions, talk about pageantry, and help you develop your full competition potential!
OK, I'm in. What paperwork do I need to fill out? You will need a resume and platform statement, available here.
I have lots more questions. How do I get in touch with you?Easy! Message either of us on Facebook, or email us:
